Türker Karapınar, a reporter for Milliyet daily newspaper, wrote an article on the indictment put together by The Chief Prosecutor of the Republic Mustafa Bilgili, regarding the investigation file concerning the murder of Ankara Head of the Registry Office, Mecit Baskın.
The investigation was seperated from the official file involving 16 cases of unknown murders, due to the risk of a statue of limitation.

According to the indictment, 12 people involving the term’s Chief Police Constable Mehmet Ağar, former Chief of the Special Operations Department and retired Lieutenant Korkut Eken face aggrevated life imprisonment on grounds of “committing murder within the scope of the activites of an armed crime syndicate.”
