Exhibition: 20 Dollars 20 Kilos

<< ALL NEWS

The exhibition “20 Dollars 20 Kilos”, held during March 5th – April 5th at DEPO İstanbul (Tütün Deposu), sheds light on a rarely known case that occurred 50 years ago. This exhibition is a contribution to creating space in our collective memory for a past that has been attempted to be erased. In 1964, the State of the Republic of Turkey decided to deport 12,903 Rûms with Greek passports. We take their luggage inside the exhibition hall, as a symbol for their exile, and go on a journey to our recent history.
