1 year without Tahir Elçi

Tahir Elçi, advocate of countless cases on gross human rights violations and a tireless human rights defender who has led to the creation of jurisprudence in the European Court of Human Rights,  was murdered by unknown assailants last year on November 28, 2015. To commemorate his legacy and to highlight the shortcomings in the investigation of his murder, Human Rights Joint Platform and Diyarbakır Bar Association have jointly compiled timelines regarding i) the investigation process of Tahir Elçi's murder, ii) the cases he took up in Turkish courts, and iii) and the cases he has taken to the European Court of Human Rights.
