The Hrant Dink Foundation has initiated a Short Film Project “Films about Conscience”, inspired by Hrant Dink’s words “The voice of conscience has been sentenced to silence. Now, that conscience is searching for a way out”. The term for 2013 has been finalized. The 2013 results of the project are declared on December 10th, World Human Rights Day.
We, as Hrant Dink Foundation, celebrate the day of Human Rights and thank all participants for their interest and contribution to the project.
Between the dates of 31st March – 11th October 2013, a total of 38 films have been downloaded to the website www.filmsaboutconscience.org, by participants both from Turkey and abroad. Also, during the same period thousand of website members made comments and discussions and voted for these films.
The best 21 of Conscience Films has been selected by the votes of the jury members as Ahmet Boyacıoğlu, Cem Mansur, Petros Markaris, Rakel Dink, Susanna Harutyunyan, Thomas Balkenhol and Yeşim Ustaoğlu.
The first 21 films selected by votes of the jury are listed below. Short films that have same votes are listed as alphabetic way accordingly directors’ names. These films will be collected in a DVD and will be suggested to international film festivals. Detailed information regarding this matter will be given to the director of each film privately.
Moreover, two short films have been awarded with an incentive scholarship by jury. The details of the scholarship which Fatih Pınar (HAKAN YAMAN) and Ufuk Erden (TIK-TAK TAK-TIK) took with their films will be announced within the next days.
