A session on Argentina's experience of confronting the past

During the session held at Depo, Meltem Aslan, Murat Çelikkan, Nazan Üstündag and Özgür Sevgi Göral talked about their experiences from their visit to Argentina between 11-15 April 2011, as well as practices of coming to terms with the past within the Turkish context. Participants contributed to the session with questions and comments. Throughout the session, confronting state terror in Turkey, Argentina's experiences of a coup d'état between 1976 and 1983, the works of Argentinean rights organisations and the present situations in both countries were among the various topics of discussion.
