The project Learning from the Past, Changing Today implemented by Hafiza Merkezi aimed to support youth's participation to the process of reconciliation and dealing with the past in Turkey. The activities of the project included seminars for youth to raise their awareness and inform them on issues of dealing with the past and enforced disappearances,  as well as peer to peer small-projects granted for the implementation of young people. The objective was to extend the debate on truth, justice and reconciliation towards a wider and more diverse section of society, by way of rendering increased visibility to the demands on these matters, and by inviting the youth ranging from 18 to 25 years old to join these discussions with their unique approach and creativity. 32 project applications were received from the cities of Ankara, Berlin, Burdur, Dersim, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Malatya, Mersin, Tarsus, Van and Yüksekova in response to the announcements in the context of the project.
